About STAT.ANACOM
What is STAT.ANACOM?
STAT.ANACOM is ANACOM’s digital platform providing statistical information on the electronic communications and postal sectors in Portugal.
What is it for?
It enables users to monitor developments in the communications sector through up-to-date, organised and differently presented data.
Who is it for?
It is intended for all users, providing information with different levels of detail and forms of visualisation.
Available information
What information can I find?
The data currently available includes:
- Fixed and mobile electronic communications services (accesses, customers, traffic, prices, revenues, international comparisons);
- Advanced digital services (such as e-commerce, over-the-top services and the Internet of Things);
- Postal services (traffic, revenues, human and physical resources).
Is all statistical information published by ANACOM available on STAT.ANACOM?
Most statistical information published by ANACOM on communications services is centralised on STAT.ANACOM. There are exceptions, such as complaints, whose information can be consulted on ANACOM’s Consumer Portal.
How often is the data updated?
Each indicator is updated according to its collection frequency. For reports in PDF format, updates follow the publication schedule defined for them.
How can I tell when the data was last updated?
The date of the latest update is shown on each item of content. In some modules, the “Updated” label identifies data that has been updated within the last 10 days.
Can I view data for a specific operator?
No. Public information is presented in aggregate form and individual (operator-level) or confidential data is not made available. The only public indicators presented by operator relate to market shares.
Access and use
Do I need to create an account?
No. You may freely access the public information available.
Can I create an account and access the restricted area?
No. Access to the restricted area is authenticated and is only intended for users with access credentials assigned by ANACOM.
How can I find the information I am looking for?
You may browse by topic or use the search available on the platform.
Can I download data?
Yes. Whenever available, content can be downloaded in different formats, such as Excel, CSV, PDF, JPG or PNG.
Can I share the data?
Yes. For example, you may use the share buttons to share by email or directly on social media.
Interpreting the data
How can I learn about the methodologies used?
In the available reports (both PDF and interactive versions), you may consult the methodology section.
How can I find more details about the indicators?
In the “Data Exploration” and “Geospatial” modules, it is possible to consult the metainformation associated with each indicator. Reports also include a methodology section containing all relevant information.
What is indicator metainformation?
It is the information describing the indicator, including what it measures, how it is calculated, its frequency, data source and other relevant notes.
Can figures differ depending on the source?
Yes, if there are differences in the underlying methodology.
Support, requests and contacts
I cannot find what I am looking for. What should I do?
You may use the search or explore the available topics. If you still cannot find what you are looking for, you may submit the statistical information request form available at the bottom of the homepage.
Can I request access to older reports?
Yes. You may request previously published reports through the statistical information request form available at the bottom of the homepage.
I found an error. What should I do?
Use the “Help us improve” option, available in the footer of STAT.ANACOM, to report the error or submit suggestions for improvement.
