The National Communications Authority (ANACOM) is actively committed to building a more inclusive information society, in which all people can have easier access to information and knowledge.

STAT.ANACOM, launched in 2025, features a responsive design aimed at providing user experience and visualisation that meets the needs of all users, making reading and navigation easier regardless of the type of device used to access the Internet (PCs, tablets, smartphones) and the special needs of some citizens.

Reflecting this commitment, STAT.ANACOM follows international best practices in terms of accessibility, as well as the applicable national legislation, namely Resolution of the Council of Ministers No 91/2011 of 8 November which forms an integral part of Law No. 36/2011 of 21 June. This law establishes the adoption of open standards in the Government IT systems and requires compliance with the intermediate level (AA level) of the accessibility guidelines.

STAT.ANACOM also seeks to comply with the highest level of accessibility guidelines (AAA level) for web content (WCAG), version 2.0, from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Since October 2012, these guidelines have been an international standard (ISO/IEC 40500:2012).
